What does it mean to move "from food to faith?
Natural Laws of Health
I discovered these truths many years ago…long before I began to try to follow them…through personal prayer, a study of the scriptures, and an observation of the world, and through the work of great nutritional and mental therapists. These are universal truths. I share them with you as I have learned to understand them, and have seen them work in my life and the lives of others.
Your relationship with food is about far more than food. The From Food to Faith program helps you reach your unique goals by working to heal all 3 areas of our lives: emotional, spiritual, and physical. Through one-on-one coaching, you will learn to rely on your internal cues of hunger, satiety, and fullness to guide your eating, building trust with your body and its ability to meet your own needs.
While learning to trust your body for your physical well-being, we also focus on learning to trust God and ourselves for our emotional and spiritual well-being. We learn to stop using food as a drug to numb us from the emotional challenges of life, and instead, trust the true source of peace.
Some of the principles focused on in this program are:
1. Honor your body’s hunger and fullness.
*These guidelines are in no way to take place of a doctor's professional advise or opinion. Please consult your own physician in regards to your specific situation. If you have any type of eating disorder, you are encouraged to include medical and mental health professionals in your health plan.

Some of the principles focused on in this program are:
1. Honor your body’s hunger and fullness.
- Food is for fuel and flavor. Using food for any other purpose is emotional eating.
- If you are using food for something other than fuel or flavor, Figure out what that food is doing for you. Use the opportunity to discover what beliefs are emotions you are trying to comfort or distract.
- There are no “good” or “bad” foods. Labeling foods as “bad” only creates judgment of ourselves, and gets in the way of learning to trust ourselves, and becoming in tune with our physical, emotional and spiritual needs. It also creates cravings when we believe that we will never have our “special foods” again. All foods are good when they help our bodies and spirits thrive.
- Food is for fuel and for taste.
- Food is a gift from God and is a blessing in our lives.
- Our bodies were created with incredible systems, capable of letting us know what nourishes us, and what doesn’t help us meet our needs. In time, you will learn to tune into these signals, and to trust them.
- Give yourself the gift of enjoying every bite.
- If you find you’re eating outside of hunger, be curious. Learn from everything.
- Eating mindfully allows you to recognize your body’s signals of not only hunger and fullness, but also which emotions you are experiencing, like sadness or loneliness.
- Treat yourself with the same love and respect you would a young child or a person you care about, who is struggling to overcome a difficult challenge. Believe in yourself.
- Care for your body in a way that will allow you to have the richest, fullest quality of life.
- Don’t play the Shame Game. No one ever grew through shame or guilt. Rather than shaming, be intensely curious. Everything that happens in your life has the power to enhance or limit you. Learn from each experience, and you will find yourself changing from the inside out.
- At some point, an unhealthy relationship with food served you. It may have numbed your fears or loneliness. Eventually, it became a burden you no longer need. Learning how to trust in something bigger than food will take time, practice, and patience.
